Has anybody painted a V-ROD before and is there any extra prep work that I would be charged for when I get ready to paint it.

Depends on how they do it.If they do a metalprep they might charge you more but a good cleaning and sanding and a coat of DP is all it should need. These are just raw aluminum aren't they?I've only looked at one and didn't notice any clear on it.Not sure though.

No there is no clear coat. This is raw metal.
And the Harley name on the tank that can be sanded off.
THANKS FOR THE INFO......

As with any "new" paint work these items should be cleaned and sand blasted before any work is started. Good luck
