If you don't know, you can't wet sand pearl paint. IT will leave steaks! What I did was let the flame paint dry pealed the tape off and then shot two coats of clear over everything. Let it all dry for two hours then wet sanded the edges of flames. I started with 800 grit and finished sanding with 2000 grit. You need to be very careful not to go through the clear and into the flames. Apply two finishing coats of clear afterwards. Result is no obvious flame edge. Makes them look deeper.
