Setting up the Finishline II gun

I think that the air/paint mixture is way too dry

I am using a 1.8 tip, 10lbs at the handle and spraying HOK. The gun is a Devillbiss finishline 2. The compressor is a 32 gal 6HP and I am painting motorcycle body work.

What are some good baseline settings and how will I know when it is set right?

Sounds like your air pressure is way too low. I'm not familiar with the Finishline but my DeVilbiss GTI requires 30psi at the gun to deliver 10 psi at the tip. However, it seems odd that you'd get too dry a spray with low pressure, I'd think it would sputter.
