Sometimes you might compound 1500 or 2000 sanding marks out of a job and then they show up again after you polish it.
To help stop this you can wax and grease remove the panel before you polish it and it will take away any petroleum oils from the compound that have filled up the marks that the polish will end up removing anyway and show up after you polish it.

Very good tip!!!!!!!!!! I'll have to try that. I (and I am sure others) have the same problem. You buff them, then after a day or so, you see the scratches again.
Sounds like it will work.
