hi guys, my name is Tyler and I am from Iowa...I am 16 years old and i have been doing paint work for around 3-4 years now...I have worked at our family's business (a body shop) since i was 12-almost 13 and from that moment on i discovered my passion and future career in custom painting...i plan to go to a 4 year college for business and minor in all art classes to enhance my airbrushing skills, and then return to the shop to manage and set up another building in conjunction with the custom paint.

i have done much work for many people ever since i painted ghost flames on my car -->>> seen here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2181965/4
i did all the bodywork, blocking, spraying, freehanding taping, etc by myself..it took me 3 days straight...

the first painting i did was interior peices on my 1st car amoung other random objects (clipboards, coffee cans, etc i did all kinds of designs on them)

i then moved onto practicing taping flames which then led to me practicing bodywork on old panels at our shop, then i did this to prepare for my car

after i did my car i painted a full interor for a kid at our high school and started making money, i then moved onto playing with alsa's crystal fx on my dads friends helmet, i ended up in the end mixing a high pearl, high metallic black (looks grey) and wetsanding all the crystal fx down, sprayed the base, let it dry down, and cleared over it heavy and i ended up with a ghosty 3 dimensional look in the paint with crystals, i also did my 1st airbrush work on it as well with the M.

my next job on the agena will be painting a guys 03 harley tank set...its going to be a pearl metallic moss green base with bronzemist flames edged/faded with silver pearl along with black dropshadowing...if you have any tips on this let me know!!! its planned to be started this weekend!!!!!

the tools i use are
-iwata lph 400 base and clear guns
-devilbiss primer guns
-badger 150 syphon airbrush and soon a new iwata kustom CS or eclipse HP-CS
-pashee(sp?) compressor along with the shops air system
-and hopefully soon and new lph50 sataminijet gun

thanks! and hopefully i can learn a lot from you guys and develop my skills into what it takes to be the airbrush artist/custom painter i want to be!

ps-constructive critisism is ok, dont take it easy on me cause im young!

also...i am looking at both the iwata kustom cs brush as well as the eclipse hp-cs..i want a brush that i can get into better detail with in comparison to my 150...the only problem is though my high school my art teacher can get me the eclipse for 20% off..but not the kustom....is it worth it to just get the kustom or is the hp-cs just as good? thanks!
