"Lift Tape"

Another great item from 3M is called "Trim Masking Tape", what we call in slang terms - "Lift Tape".

This tape can be bought in different widths. It contains one hard edged that can be slipped under soft window rubbers, then lifted back, then the other portion of the tape needs to be applied to the glass. This way, your widow rubbers are lifted out of the way while you are painting (and drying), thus keeping the paint from "bridging" onto the rubber.

If you can lift up the window rubber with your finger, then you can use this product.

Gives it a nice neat appearance once your paint is dry and the tape is removed.

2" wide width is part number 06349

A previous tip named "Tape Outlining (tight window rubbers)" is great for the hard window rubbers. The one's you can't lift up with your finger.
