How do I pinstripe the flame outlines???

Hey,
First of all, this is a great site! It is very helpful for people like me trying to learn the art of painting flames, etc. Could someone explain to me what the simplest and best looking method of pinstriping the edges of flames would be? Using actual pinstripe tape is simple enough but the raised edge is severe and you can see where the tape splices back together so I am assuming that painting the stripes on is best but I don't know the best method of doing so, any suggestions?
Thanks.

Thank you very much for your reply, I like the idea using the spray mask. I can't seem to find any in my area, where is a good source to buy some? I will experiment with this method. I'm also wondering if there is a such thing as a double bladed knife to cut the mask for striping??
Thanks.
