If the flames would also be flat, you can just clear everything with flattening agent in the clear.
If he wants a flat base and gloss flames, as far as I know there is now way to me it so you cannot feel an edge.

thats what i thought, he wants gloss flames, flat paint. did you seevan done?? i put a fink in the air scoop. had to have one!!!

Best thing you can do is spray everything gloss. Then mask up the flames, resand the rest of the part. Spray a couple coats of 'flat' clear. Then had the edge pinstriped.

don't forget to wetsand and buff, then mask the flame sand it and shoot the flat.
