this is my first post, ive been painting forever, but just found this forum!

ive got a guy who wants candy apple green, with ghosted shamrocks, on a motorcycle.

ive never done the ghost thing before, and am wondering what would be the best procedure for this.

what color base?
what color shamrocks?
what color dry pearl on the shamrocks?

can i put candy over the graphics and not have the effects dissappear?

thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum!

Candy lime green is one of the easier candied to paint.

Here is how I would do this job.

I would paint the base using House of Kolors BC-09 (green metallic)

Then I would do the shamrocks in a dark green metallic.

Then I would coat the complete part in candy Pagan Gold (can't remember the HOK # off hand

This will give you a rich looking candy lime green base with darker candy lime green shamrocks.

Be sure and do a test panel for both green colors with the gold over it to make sure this is the effect you would like.

You don't even have to buy a second green metallic. You could always just darker the green you will be using for the base.

Good Luck!

how would i darken the green? add a little black to it?

can i add some pearl to the shamrocks, or will the pearliness not show up?

thanks for the reply!

heres a pic of the last bike i did with lime gold kandy over lemon yellow.

for the tail i used pavo purple base dusted with tru blu pearl. almost made it color shifting.

One way to darker it would be just to add some black.
You could add some pearl to it, but you probably won't see it that good under the candy. You could probably just do the green metallic base, then candy gold, then do a 'green pearl' OVER the candy for the shamrocks.

Nice paintwork on the sportbike!
