Buffing Tip

When buffing on fenders with rivets or mounting holes on the side, a simple little tip is to place a tape on these areas while buffing. This will help keep you from burning through if you so happen to hit the spots with the buffer.
On your last pass with the buffer (on your final polishing step), you may want to remove the tape and then go over the sides quickly.

Usually you will see a very slight line where the tape meets the edge. This will help "kill" this line.

This little tip also works good on fenders with very sharp edges (place the tape *just* over the edge).
Better safe than sorry.
