Waterbased Paints

Was wondering if the same regs apply in America as it does here in the UK. As of 1st Jan 2007 we are not allowed to use solvent based paints without obtaining an exemption licence, we are having to dump our solvent based paints in favour of the waterbased paints, although we can use clearcoates which are solvent based and primers which are also sovent based. Seems crazy to me but thats the new ruling here and in most of Europe so is it the same in your country? Be interested to hear.

Not yet, hopefully never. The amount of VOC's from urethane is less than a drop in the polution bucket. California has stricter laws on clear coats than does Texas, where I live. AL
