This question will prove how new I am to this stuff!

I'm just getting into custom painting as a hobby. My question is, when working with a basecoat/clearcoat system I have found the clearcoat must be applied over the basecoat within a certain timeframe. Let's say I've gotten very good at this (like in another forty years) and I have a very intricate layout that I just can't lay out in a day or two. How the heck do I get around the "24 hour rule." I'm not very artistic and I usually end up airbrushing over my airbrushing before I'm happy with it. I'm stumped!

Thanks Tooter. I thought that might work. I'll try it out.
