Hi everyone. Im spraying a two tone helmet with one shot enamel paint. Im left with ridged seam where the two colors meet. How do i prepare the seam for leafing. I tried sanding but I wind up removing too much paint. Any tips?

You will probably need to clearcoat the helmet. Then resand it down flat. This will give you an even surface to work with.

yeah like Taz said, its gonna have to be cleared. That's the problem with using single-stage paint...hard to create a "seamless" paint job cuz you don't have that extra build to be able to sand it then buff it back to gloss.

Are you gonna gold or silver leaf it?
