Rustoleum thinning?

I'm looking at spraying rustoleum primer (clean metal primer) with a 1.8 tip. The can says to thin 5% with mineral spirits if needed for brushing/rolling, but doesn't say anything about spraying. I've looked around a bunch of different forums but haven't found any solid answers. How much should I thin the primer? How much should I thin Rustoleum enamel for the basecoat?

If that's the mix they suggest for brushing, I would think it would be a little thinner than that to spray.
You might want to try 20% mix.
Or, just try it straight. Then keep mixing until you feel you have the right consistency.
You definitely don't want to spray it too thick or too thin. Thinner would probably be better as you can just keep putting on lighter coats.
