Replacing A Factory Fuel Cap

I was given an old Kawasaki Drifter Tank. I like the tank and I want to use it on a bike I'm building for my son. It was full of gas that turned to varnish. But that is an easy enough fix. My problem is the Gas cap has caroided inside the tumblers and the locksmith got the tumblers to turn but the ears didn't release. I'm going to be forced to change the entire cap. I'm sure if i lube those ears with some marvels and pry the cap with gentle persuasion the ears will release.

Can someone help me with directions for the process of picking out and installing a cheap bung and cap in my tank.

Thanks

You got me on that one...I've never replaced a bung before.

Possibly find a good original tank and cap on ebay, classifieds, or a motorcycle parts yard?

We have a yard like that in St Pete
