Just respraying my car a different colour. The car is few years old and is still the original oem paint. I have sanded it all down but I have quite a few areas when I have burn through the clear coat to the basecoat. If i apply a sealer/wet on wet primer will this seal everything in and I will be fine to apply my new basecoat or will it still fry up? Or do i need to apply primer to the whole vehicle let it dry then resend it?

Thanks for any help

HI,

You can do this on smaller spots no problem as long as the prep is done right. Meaning it's a nice transition from the metal to the paint.
Also as long as you don't have any problems with the new paint reacting with the old pain like having the edges of the old paint wrinkle/lift

Larger spots you should probably prime and resand.
