Paint can lids

If you poke small holes in the can rim, where the lid sits on the can, this will allow any paint in the rim to drop back into the can and keep the rim cleaner so it will maintain a better seal and not get all that paint buildup

Make sure you punch the hole straight down and don't distort the sides of the groove,If you store the paint a long time air can seep in the distorted area.Lost a few cans from this.Wipe the groove clean too.

Good tip gentlemen! Also, if you do have paint on the rim, throw a towel over it so you don't become a living tie dye show. hehehehe kind of obvious, but ya know every little bit helps.

Put a layer of platic wrap to make a better seal... use the punch and then before putting can away... plastic wrap for long storage...

also shake the can after the lid is secure this puts paint around the rim on the inside and any air leak should dry the paint and seal the remaining. At least this works on striping enamels.
