Optima

I was wondering if anyone was using or had tried the optima line of hvlp spray guns sold by Motorguard. I remember trying their 500i gold gun and tought that it sprayed right there with the best of them (Sata, Iwata). This is not their top of the line gun. I think the 800 series is although I haven't tried it. Any comments?

I know very little about the Optama, but I can tell you this. A co-worker of mine heard the Optama was a great gun and bought one about 4 years ago (I don't know what model it is). He used it for about 5 paint jobs, he couldn't get it to atomize properly. We think he might have just gotten a defective gun (poor machining) but I don't know for sure. I'll look at it this week and see what model it is.
