New guy with dumb questions

Yes I,m new so please don,t beat me up to bad for asking dumb questions. First of all I,m a retired tool & die maker with
a small machine shop at home now. I,m not a painter but I would like to learn enough to make nice looking finishes. I bought
a Euro Astro 1.7 pro he gun. I thought I had ordered a 1.3 nozzle gun & try'ed to get the order changed but no I,m now stuck
with this gun. I plan on getting another gun in the future with a 1.3 nozzle. But for the time being is there any way a guy can
paint a descent finish with a 1.7 nozzle other than just primer?

An experienced painter can do a decent job with a cheap gun, wrong size tip, wrong air pressure, etc. Someone with no experience might, but it's not likely. It's a difficult enough skill to learn with good equipment. VERY difficult with the wrong tools.
