I am a beginner and I am not trying to advertise for DeWalt, but I just got my new DeWalt model # dw849 and it works great. I used the products that scott recommends and achieved excellent results my first time. i did an internet search and found the thing for $ 169.oo free shipping. There are so many tools and products to choose from . Thanks for the help Scott.

Thats about $50 less than i paid for my Dewalt about 4 years ago. DeWalt is making them for Black and Decker now from what i am told, who for a while made the Best variable speed eletric buffer at the time. If you replace the best i guess that makes you the best.
