Installation Suggestions for air compressors?

Does anyone have any links to sites with good how-to's for installing a portable air compressor? I'm hoping to try my hand at painting my motorcycle parts some day, but to start with I'm looking to use the compressor for a more general purpose. I want to keep the compressor out in my garage but run a line into my basement so I can hav air there too.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what pipe to use, where to put regulators/line driers, etc...

You can run PVC pipe to the basement, but make sure it is big enough. Remember that you will have a pressure drop when there is a long run.

As far as outlets, you are better to run the pipe along the top of the wall and then run the pipe down say six feet, but put your outlet at 5 feet. This allows water to run past your outlet instead of being puddled up in front of it. You can also run it down low and then run it up to accomplish the same thing........
