Help with solvent pop?

I just cleared this hood that I airbrushed and got some solvent pop. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the pop without sanding into the artwork?

Awesome work!!!
The only way I know if is to sand it down good and reclear it.
Possibly start with 600DA
Your first coat of clear will look wired since you are now trying to fill pits.
Don't overload it again though as it will do the same thing.

Taz is always right! Hopefully you have enough coats on it to just skim cut the top surface, getting the little bubbles to open up, without affecting the artwork (Fantastic, BTW!) I'd use a hard block with some 600 or 800, and carefully just skim it over, like de-nibbing a final finish. Stay away from the edges, and just Scotchbrite them a bit.

So I sanded the clear coat and polished it and got rid of all the solvent pop. The clear sanded smooth as glass and looks great. I have to give credit to the Tamco clear. The best clear I ever used.

That's great to hear. Normally that doesn't happen. When you sand it, you break open the little bubbles and end up with pits.
That's great that it worked out for you

Taz is always right!
:haha:
You know the old saying. Ask 10 painters a question and you'll end up with 10 different ways to achieve the same result lol
