HELP - Safe Polish for fresh paint

Dear All,

What is the best polish for finishing off a wet sanding and buffing process?
Silly me!!! In a quest to perfect my shine, I bought NXT Gen Tech Wax online from TCP Global.
Started wondering about my choice and contacted Brian Hann, surface Care Specialist at Meguiar’s Inc. Brian quickly pointed out...” No you cannot use NXT Tech Wax in a body shop environment or on fresh paint.“ Was advised would have to wait 90 days before applying the product so that my paint can properly cure.
Currently, for polishing fresh paint after it has cured for 24 hours and I have finished the wet sanding, I start off with G3 Fericia compound using a rotary machine and finish off by hand with Presta Chroma Swirl Remover. I can get these products easily from the local shops here in Zambia.
I have no complaints about the G3 stuff. It has worked wonders (apart from the messy clean up afterwards)! But for the Presta Chroma Swirl Remover, I get the feeling there might be a better product out there.
This time around I have done a little home work on the net. I have come up with a list of 3 products which are SAFE for fresh paint and I can also buy online from TCP Global.
Here goes:-
  1. Autoglym Super Resin Polish
  2. Meguiar's Show Car Glaze
  3. 3M's Imperial Hand Glaze
Please restrict your recommendations to stuff you have used and has worked for you.

Regards,

Victor

I've only used 2 of those. I personally think the Imperial hand glaze is kind of old school. Been around for many years. Seems thin and also seems to wash off fairly easy.
The Show car glaze is pretty good. We currently use "New car glaze" (#5) from Meguires.
Keep in mind, these are all just 'glazes'. Your surface should already be 'show quality' by this stage, This simply just cleans it and adds a nice coating to it without having to dry wipe it.

My favorite 'glaze' was always Malcos Plum Crazy, but the last 2 gallons we've been through does not remove easily. It seems to leave little gummy spots that are extremely hard to get off even with a micro fiber towel.

As far as wax, my favorite is also the NXT, and yes, I'll admit, I've waxed freshly painted bikes before, even my own without any problems at all. I buffed, polished and waxed my own personal bike the very next day after painting...so you can take this comment as you please.

Good luck to you!

Thanks TAZ,

I'll play it safe for now and go for the Car Show Glaze from Meguiar's as this is avaliable from TCP Global.
By the way I had emailed Brian to suggest a polish safe for freah paint and he suggested that Car Show Glaze would do just fine. But I did not want to take a salesman's word without checking with pipo who actually use these products and can guide from experiance.

Thanks

Victor

Yep, Car Show Glaze is good.
Brian know his stuff about products, so between the two/three of us giving it a :bigokay:, it looks like you have a winner!!!
