Gday Mate from Australia

Hi everyone, i have just joined the forum and thought i would say g'day to everyone.
My name is Ken and i live in the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia. Its about an hour west of Sydney.
I became a spray painter in 2000 and worked mainly in the smash repair industry with a few years at a place which specialised in minitrucks before coming to my current work place. It used to do both mechanical repairs and smash repair work but a few years ago phased out the smash work as we got sick off getting ripped off by insurance companies. After that my boss offered me a mechanics apprenticeship which i accepted and have been doing for the last few years. Its been a good change from painting amd will give me a second trade and increase my skills, although the pay cut was not fun :)
My interests are any type of motorsport (especially V8 Supercars) and any old cars (customs, hotrods, muscle cars, japanese cars). basically if it doesn't have a chrome bumper i am not interested. I have an extensive 1:18 scale model car collection consisting of V8 Supercars and (my favourite) Group C and Group A cars from the 1970's and 1980's. My hero is Dick Johnson.
I also have a healthy obsession with comics (mainly spider-man), Transformers (vintage stuff from the 1980's) and like any true nerd Star Wars.
Lately i have been wanting to get back into painting so i can get creative. This has been helped by my best mate who has just quit his locksmith trade to do a panel beating apprenticeship (at a restoration shop). We are both keen to start building the cars we have always loved at car shows.
I have done a little custom stuff and would like to do more so i thought i would sign up to get some help and inspiration.
Cheers, Ken
