Emblem Removal

I made a big mistake and attached my tank emblems before I mounted it back on my motorcycle. Sure enough they weren't straight with the lines of the bike.

Any suggestions on how to remove a raised emblem applied with double sided tape? I'm assuming it is the same type adhesive used on cars.

I think I've read that you can heat it up with a hair dryer but I wanted to be sure.

if you put them on fresh paint you might pull paint off. try a little heat . Good luck

You should be able to pull them right off. If you put them on real fresh paint, re-wetsand and buff the sides, then place the emblems in the correct spot.

If the tape stays on the tank, you should still be able to "roll" it with your finger tips.

The paint had been wetsanded and polished prior to applying the emblems so it shouldn't pull off the paint. Will a hairdryer be sufficient to heat it up? Is there any danger of the heat damaging the paint?

it should be. all you want to do is warm up the adhesive on the back of the emblem.
