Color sanding is sanding for a smoother texture and to remove any dust or inperfections after the paint is dry . the paint then must be buffed and polished.

IN NEW ZEALAND WE MAINLY REFER TO 'COLOUR SANDING'
AS SANDING BASECOAT IN THE BOOTH TO REMOVE ANY SINKBACK OR DUST BEFORE CLEARING IT

Color sanding is defined as removing any imperfections basically. After you paint and want to and to remove any blemishes. Then this is color sanding. It will remove excessive orange peel or dust nibs. It will depend on the system you will use. I prefer 3m, first color sand with 1000-1500 depending on you situation, then compond, then finesse, then glaze. Many companys have different applications. Good luck.
