air adjustment

hi all, been painting cars off and on since the old laquer days, but have always used a conventional gun. going to try an hvlp gun and need to ask a question. i hear about 8- 10 pounds of pressure at the cap is normal, but what do you set the gun inlet pressure to get the right cap adj? thanks, dave.

depending on the gun it could be any where from 20-30PSI depending on what paint brand you are using the paint manufacture has gun setups for the most popular guns out there.

okay thanks. i guess it would be best to get my gun first and then work from there. kind of thinking along the lines of devilbiss since i've used their regular guns so long. dont do near enough jobs to warrant some of the high dollar guns. thanks, dave.
