I've done that before. I used my vinyl cutter to cut out a mask and sprayed through it. You can get some interesting effects with a mask. Like fading from one color to another, camilon effect, marbleizing. The list goes on. Most people I talk to want the real thing. I have never used this idea for a customer but it could happen.
