55 Chevy radiator paint question

New member
I would like to paint the brass radiator tanks with polyurethane. The same paint color I used on the car body. Will polyurethane hold up to the heat? Any suggestions are welcome.

Any catalyzed paint will hold up to the heat of a radiator tank. I've done this on many cars. Even sprayed the core with basecoat body color. But you don't want to put too much thickness on the core, as it blocks heat transfer. And just like on an engine, just put on enough color to cover. Too thick and the heat cycles will eventually peel the paint.
