    hi there,has anyone painted a car with ppg dulon?.any comments on the paint? durability,finish etc...

    I used too use it, but started using 2 pac and never looked back.

    It's Acrylic Lacquer, we're still allowed to use it over here in New Zealand.

    so do you reckon its crap?.im wanting to paint my hz but am worried the paint is gonna be crap.the paint is cheap as dirt.

    i wouldn't say its crap, but you'll get a better gloss straight off the gun with 2 pack paint. The down side to 2 pack is the isocyanates, so you need to use a air fed full face mask when spraying.
    If its too cold the dulon will 'blush', if its too hot it dries to quick and you can get dry lines, you really need to chase the wet line with it. The plus side is it dries quick. But you'll need to buff it to get a really good gloss and it's not as hard wearing as 2 pack paint.

    thanks for the info.having to buff the thing doesnt worry me too much.ive got all the time in the world.2pack sounds a bit much in terms of equipment.i guess ill be buying the dulon paint.i think the durability issue wont matter too much as the car will likely see bugger all daylight????
